IWS - lovely family pets!
While IWS compete in a vast array of canine events, the majority are primarily family pets! They are known for their playful disposition, intelligence and trainability. The breed has been recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club since their founding back in 1888.
IWS - sporting retrievers!
The Irish Water Spaniel was developed and refined into what we know today in Ireland in the 1830s for retrieving game. It is recognized as a Retriever for CKC Hunt Tests purposes. Many are know to enjoy hunting upland birds as well!
